Since we were children we all have spent countless hours in the car watching the scenery go by.
This series of Drive-By Landscape Paintings is a result of this common and contemporary way in
which we tend to view nature. We have become use to the bombardment of rapid fire images from
Television and Film and this is the way we see the “Drive-By Landscape”. I take a single frame out of
context and choose to examine it, can we even bear to look at the still image anymore? This is
landscape through time with the visual distortion of the foreground and the background becoming
the more focused. A reversal of the normal view of landscape as forms blend, blur and
constantly change.
